InhaltIndependent Visit
Admission for school classes is free at the Kunstmuseum and Thun Panorama.
If you would like to visit the Kunstmuseum Thun or the Thun Panorama with a class unaccompanied by the Art Education staff, please register at least 14 days in advance at kunstmuseum@thun.ch / T +41 (0)33 225 84 20.
School classes can also visit the Thun Panorama and Kunstmuseum before regular opening hours. Please note that we charge a fee of CHF 50 for independent visits before opening hours.
Guided Tour
Special guided tours enable pupils to engage more closely with the artworks in the current exhibitions at the Kunstmuseum and the Thun Panorama. Adapted to the pupils’ grade level, the tours introduce the school class to the exhibition themes while also addressing personal experiences and backgrounds.
Dates: by appointment / min. 14 days in advance
Guided tours can also be booked before regular opening hours.
Duration: 2 lessons of 45 minutes each
Costs: CHF 100 (admission included)
Outdoor Tour
«IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF MARQUARD WOCHER»
On this walk, art historian Gabi Moshammer will guide your class to selected locations captured by Marquard Wocher in his Thun Panorama. Starting from the oldest surviving panorama in the world, you will learn all sorts of interesting facts about Thun 200 years ago.
Location: Thun Panorama, followed by a guided tour of the town of Thun
Dates: by arrangement / book at least 14 days in advance
Guided tours can also be booked before regular opening hours.
Duration: 2 hours (incl. walking time)
Cost: CHF 130 (incl. admission)
Persons: max. 25 persons
Note: This tour is suitable for people who are good walkers. Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing suitable for the weather.
Thematic Tour
In four different guided tours in the Thun-Panorama, cultural mediator Gabi Moshammer provides thematic insights into life in Marquard Wocher’s time in the 19th century.
Level: from upper school level upwards
Date: by arrangement
Duration: max. 1 hour
Cost: CHF 100 (incl. admission).
Number of people: max. 20 (parallel tours are not possible in the Thun-Panorama)

A dossier for teachers is published for each exhibition. This detailed documentation allows you to prepare for the visit with your school class: background information, visual material and suggestions for the preparation and follow-up of your visit to the museum.

Materials / Sehkiste
Working with the following materials is permitted in the Thun-Panorama: colored pens, pencils, paper and other non-hazardous materials that are both dry and clean.
We are happy to provide materials (pads, seat cushions, paper, etc.) for your school visit upon early request.
